Issue/Introduction

Process to change the "cloudadmin@vmc.local" password when the current password is known. 

Environment

VMware Cloud on AWS

Cause

  • In some organizations the "cloudadmin@vmc.local" password is required to be changed periodically due to security policies.
  • The current password has become compromised and is required to be changed by the organization. 

Resolution

  • The "cloudadmin@vmc.local" account is a local user account in VMware Cloud on AWS vSphere environments.
  • This process can be followed to change the password when the current password is known: Change Your vCenter Single Sign-On Password
  • In the above process, "cloudadmin@vmc.local" is chosen in the Single Sign On > Users and Groups section. 

Additional Information

  • The "cloudadmin@vmc.local" password that is present in the VMware Cloud on AWS UI is only valid after the initial deployment of an SDDC.
  • After the "cloudadmin@vmc.local" password has been changed by the organization, it is the responsibility of the organization to document the updated password.
