Issue/Introduction

Detail the fix to this known issue.

Symptoms:

When deploying an OVF template from Content Library, the Step 2 "Select a compute resource" compatibility check is successful. Then an error appears preventing completion of the OVF template deployment wizard:

"Issues detected with selected template. Details: - -1:-1:VALUE_ILLEGAL: No supported hardware versions among [vmx-19]; supported: [vmx-04, vmx-07, vmx-08, vmx-09, vmx-10, vmx-11, vmx-12, vmx-13, vmx-14, vmx-15, vmx-16, vmx-17]."

Resolution

It is possible that the Content Library contains stale virtual hardware support level information. Check the following documentation in order to determine if the SDDC supports a certain Virtual Hardware level:

https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Cloud-on-AWS/services/com.vmware.vmc-aws-operations/GUID-52CED8FB-2E3A-4766-8C59-2EAD8E2C1D31.html

Contact VMware Support to have the vCenter Content-Library service restarted. A service restart will force the Content-Library to refresh the supported Virtual Hardware to match the current vSphere support level.

Additional Information

Impact/Risks:
Customers will be unable to deploy OVFs which required VM Hardware Version 19 until the issue is remediated.
