How to Build your VMware Success 360 Success Plan using Success Plan Builder

Issue/Introduction

Document the steps the customer needs to take in order to use the Success Plan Builder.

Resolution

  1. Log in to Customer Connect (https://customerconnect.vmware.com/login
  2. From the navigation menu at the top hover over the ‘Success’ option and click into the option you wish to choose
  3. Prior to building a Success Plan, some of the options on the left navigation will be greyed out as follows

  4. If you are eligible for the self-serve capability, you will see the ‘Success Plan Builder’ option.  Select it to build your Success Plan using the guided tool. 

  5. Start by selecting Success Pathways, which can be sorted by Outcomes, Products or Use Cases.

        1. Choosing Success Pathways by Outcome:
          1. Select the ‘Outcomes’ tile and click Continue.
          2. The new page will provide a list of Outcomes and allow you to choose one or more options that best suits your needs. Click Continue.
          3. Based on your selections, the outcome-based Success Pathways will be presented. From here you can add them to your Success Plan where you will be able to review them in detail before finalizing.
          4. Use the ‘+ Add Pathway to Plan’ button to add the desired Success Pathways to your Success Plan. You may select 1 or more Success Pathway as needed. Click on Continue to proceed.
          5. Here you can either continue to add more Success Pathways by clicking on ‘Add Success Pathways’ button or review and refine your Success Plan by selecting ‘Finalize Success Plan’.
          6. On the Finalize Success Plan page, you can set the priority and due date for each pathway and assign to someone on your team now or after your Success Plan is created. There is an option to remove unwanted Success Pathways at this point.
          7. If you wish to proceed, click on the ‘Create Success Plan’ button.
          8. Your Success Plan will now visible under My Success Plan and the option to build a Success Plan is no longer available.
          9. You may Update your Success Plan at any time by clicking on the ‘Update Success Plan’ at the top right section of the Success Plan page.
        2. Choosing Success Pathways by Products:
          1. Select the ‘Products’ tile and click Continue.
          2. Choose from one or more products that best suits your needs and click Continue.
          3. Based on your selections, product-based Success Pathways will be presented.
          4. Use the ‘+ Add Pathway to Plan’ button to add the desired Success Pathways to your Success Plan. You may select 1 or more Success Pathway as needed. Click Continue.
          5. Here you can continue to add more Success Pathways by clicking on the ‘Add Success Pathways’ button or review and refine your Success Plan by clicking on ‘Finalize Success Plan’.

          1. Select the ‘Use Cases’ tile and click Continue.
          2. Choose from one or more use case-based options that best suits your needs and click Continue.
          3. Based on your selections, use case-based Success Pathways will be presented.
          4. Use the ‘+ Add Pathway to Plan’ button to add the desired Success Pathways to your Success Plan. You may select 1 or more Success Pathway as needed. Click Continue to proceed.
          5. Next page you can either continue to add more Success Pathways by clicking on the ‘Add Success Pathways’ button or review and refine your Success Plan by clicking on ‘Finalize Success Plan’.
          6. Here you can set the priority and due date for each Success Pathway and assign to someone on your team now or after your Success Plan is created. You have the option to remove unwanted Success Pathway at this point. Next, click on the ‘Create Success Plan’ button.
          7. Your Success Plan will be now visible under My Success Plan and the option to build the Success Plan is no longer available.
          8. You may Update your Success Plan at any time by clicking on the ‘Update Success Plan’ at the top right section of the Success Plan page.
          9. If you need assistance at any point in the process, click on the ‘Need Help’ option available at the top right on every page or click on ‘Contact Success Desk’.

Updating your Success Plan

You may update your Success Plan by clicking on the ‘Update Success Plan’ button at the top right section of the Success Plan page.

  1. Log in to Customer Connect (https://customerconnect.vmware.com/login)
  2. Go to the Success tab in the header at the top and click on Success Home.
  3. Select the Success Plan option from the left navigation menu.
  4. Select the ‘Update Success Plan’ button on the top right of the page and follow the steps to update an existing Success Plan.

5. Clicking on the ‘Update Success Plan’ button opens up the page as shown below.

6. To add additional Success Pathways, select the appropriate tile – Outcomes, Products or Use cases. Success Pathways already in your Success Plan are shown at the bottom of the page and cannot be added again.

7. After adding any new Success Pathways, finalize the Success Plan to complete.

8. Newly added Success Pathways will be available under the existing Success Plan and can be viewed from the Success Plan option.
