MacOS 10.15.4 or later presents a “System Extension Blocked” warning

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
On macOS Catalina 10.15.4 or later, a "System Extension Blocked" warning dialog may pop up when launching VMware Fusion. The warning indicates that system extension(s) signed by "VMware, Inc." will be incompatible with a future version of macOS.

Cause

The warning appears because current versions of VMware Fusion leverage kernel extensions that will be deprecated by a future version of macOS. You can read more about this from Apple.

Resolution

VMware is aware of this issue, and we are working to transition VMware Fusion to use Apple supported interfaces.
