Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
Associated tasks to those invoked via the HCX plugin such as a bulk migration appear within vCenter Recent Tasks as initiated by the currently logged in vSphere administrator dynamically.  Each time a new vSphere administrator authenticates, the related tasks show an "Initiator" of the currently logged in user.

For example:

User A initiates a task via HCX such as a bulk migration
User A, logged into the vCenter as themselves, shows up as the "Initiator" for the related vCenter tasks such as vSphere replication

User B logs into the vCenter as themselves, and user B shows as the "Initiator" for the related vCenter tasks instead of user A.

Cause

Currently under investigation by engineering.

Resolution

Currently there is no resolution.

Workaround:
Refer to the HCX Audit logs for task and associated task initiator.  HCX > Adminsitration > Audit Logs

Additional Information

Impact/Risks:
The "Initiator" field of vCenter Recent Tasks does not provide authenticity into the actual initiator of the task and the HCX Audit logs must be cross referenced for auditing purposes.
