Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Navigating to the vRealize Operations page in the vSphere Client (HTML5) displays an error similar to:
Error: vRealize Operations is not reachable. Please check the connection. Error: "Failed : HTTP error code : 500"

Environment

VMware vRealize Operations Manager 7.5.x
VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.7.x
VMware vRealize Operations Manager 7.0.x
VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.6.x
VMware vSphere 6.7.x

Cause

vRealize Operations Manager does not support linked vCenter Server instances.

Resolution

This is expected behavior when the vCenter is in linked mode.
The vRealize Operations Manager Plugin will not work while the vCenter is in linked mode.

vRealize Operations Manager does not support linked vCenter Server instances. Instead, you must configure the vCenter Server adapter for each vCenter Server instance, and register each vCenter Server instance to vRealize Operations Manager.

Additional Information

For more information on creating a vCenter Adapter Instance, seeĀ Configure a vCenter Adapter Instance in vRealize Operations Manager.
