IMPORTANT: vCenter Server Appliance 6.5 builds have been removed as of November 14, 2017 due to a deployment-impacting issue. This issue does not impact Windows installed vCenter Servers. To resolve this issue, you must upgrade to vCenter Server Appliance 6.5.0f or vCenter Server Appliance 6.5 Update 1c, or later. For more information, see KB 51124.

This patch is applicable for vCenter Server Appliance and Platform Services Controller Appliance.

The vCenter Server 6.5.0d release includes new features and bug fixes related to vSAN 6.6. For more information, see the vSAN 6.6 Release Notes and the vSAN 6.6 documentation.

Download and Installation

You can download this patch by going to the VMware Patch Download Center and choosing VC from the Search by Product drop-down menu.

  1. Attach the VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-6.5.0.5500-5318154-patch-FP.iso file to the vCenter Server Appliance CD or DVD drive.
  2. Log in to the appliance shell as root and run the commands given below:
    1. To stage ISO:
      software-packages stage --iso
    2. To see the staged content:
      software-packages list --staged
    3. To install the staged rpms:
      software-packages install --staged
