Question:
What does the heuristic metric IS Clamped represent?
Answer:
The metric "Custom Metric Host (Virtual) - Custom Metric Process (Virtual) - Custom Metric Agent (Virtual)(SuperDomain) - <Host_Name> - <Process_Name> - <Agent_Name> - IS Clamped" is entirely controlled by the EM Agent clamp settings defined in apm-events-threshold-config.xml.
The clamp property is set by introscope.enterprisemanager.agent.metrics.limit.
Once the clamp hits, a new metric must report to the EM for the "IS Clamped" metric to be displayed as 1.
This can raise some confusion as there can be instances where an agent is clamped by the EM, but the "IS Clamped" metric is still reporting 0.
