IMPORTANT: vCenter Server Appliance 6.5 builds have been removed as of November 14, 2017 due to a deployment-impacting issue. This issue does not impact Windows installed vCenter Servers. To resolve this issue, you must upgrade to vCenter Server Appliance 6.5.0f or vCenter Server Appliance 6.5 Update 1c, or later. For more information, see KB 51124.

Product Patch for vCenter Server Appliance 6.5 containing VMware software fixes, security fixes, and Third Party Product fixes (for example: JRE, tcServer, and SLES OS components).

This patch is applicable for vCenter Server Appliance and Platform Services Controller Appliance.

Download and Installation

You can download this patch by going to the VMware Patch Download Center and choosing VC from the Search by Product drop down.

  1. Attach VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-6.5.0.5400-5318112-patch-FP.iso file to vCenter Server Appliance.
  2. Go to command prompt and run the commands given below:
    1. To stage ISO:
      software-packages stage --iso
    2. To see the staged content:
      software-packages list --staged
    3. To install the staged rpms:
      software-packages install --staged
