Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

In vSphere Client when the Converter plug-in is enabled, you may experience these symptoms:

• Logging into vSphere Client fails
• You see the error:
  
  VpxClient.exe - Ordinal Not Found : The ordinal 318 could not be located in the dynamic link library LIBEAY32.dll
  
  
  
• You cannot exit vSphere Client
• You see the error:
  
  VMware Infrastructure Client unrecoverable error: (app) Exception 0x0000005 (access violation) has occurred
  
  
  
• VMware Infrastructure Client does not throw an Error when VMware converter Plugins are Disabled from Virtual Center
  
• Uninstalling and Reinstalling VMware Converter and vSphere Client does not fix problem
  

Cause

This issue occurs due to the mismatching versions of openssl dlls and the Converter plug-in.

Resolution
