Use cases
- Backups and restores using vStorage APIs for Data Protection (VADP)
- Changed block tracking (CBT)
- Full, incremental, and synthetic full backups
- Restores of full virtual machines, and guest files
- Hot-add is the ONLY transport mode supported
Resolution
Solution Architecture
The solution consists of one or more Clumio Cloud Connectors “Connector VM” deployed in a customer’s VMC SDDC. Clumio’s architecture takes advantage of Amazon S3 endpoints to maximize performance and negate the egress costs associated with moving backup data from a customer’s VMC Connected VPC to the Clumio cloud service.

Solution Components
Clumio Cloud Platform: Provisioned and managed by Clumio, delivered as a service to customers. Customers interact with the cloud service via web or RestAPI for visibility and configuration of backup.
Clumio Cloud Connector: Virtual machine deployed in SDDC that conducts movement of data from source to Clumio Cloud Platform.
