Issue/Introduction

The issue of intermittent communication between virtual machines across ESXi host on a specific VXLAN segment ID is resolved in ESXi 5.5 Patch ESXi550-201512001.

Symptoms:

Intermittent communication issue between virtual machines across ESXi hosts on specific VXLAN segment ID.

Cause

This issue occurs due to an IGMP race condition on the ESXi host when it tries to join a specific IGMP group membership.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in ESXi 5.5 Patch ESXi550-201512001 (Update 3b), available at VMware Downloads. For more information, see VMware ESXi 5.5, Patch Release ESXi550-201512001 (2135410).
