Issue/Introduction
Symptoms:
SNMP traps are frequently and irregularly generated when using the vCenter Server 6.0.
The Task and Events in vCenter Server display:
Alarm 'Health status changed alarm' on Datacenters triggered by event xxxxx 'vmware-vpostgres status changed from gray to green
There is an alarm triggered with this description:
vmware-vpostgres status changed from green to gray
The traps look similar to:
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.xxxx.x.x.xxx.x = STRING: "alarm.HealthStatusChangedAlarm - Event: Status change (xxxxx)
Summary: vmware-vpostgres status changed from green to gray
Date: MM/DD/YY xx:xx:xx
Arguments:
componentId = vmware-vpostgres
componentName = vmware-vpostgres
In the
/var/log/vmware/sca/sca.log
file, or
C:\ProgramData\VMware\vCenterServer\
logs\sca\sca
.log
file, you see entries similar to:
