Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• The Download Windows Remote Desktop Shortcut File option is unavailable in vCloud Director (vCD) 1.5
• Cannot download the Windows remote desktop shortcut from the vApp's Virtual Machines view
• You have verified and ensured that these vCD prerequisites are all met:
  
  
  • The virtual machine is powered on and is running a Windows guest operating system
  • Remote Desktop is enabled in the guest operating system.
  • The virtual machine has an IP assigned on its network that is accessible by the client.
  • The RDP port 3389 is open in the virtual machine

Resolution

This issue is resolved in vCloud Director 1.5.1. For more information about this version, see the VMware vCloud Director 1.5.1 Release Notes. You can download the latest release from the VMware Download Center.

To work around this issue when you do not want to upgrade, select the virtual machine from the vApp Diagram. The link should become available.
