Issue/Introduction

Introduction

Currently, CA Harvest Software Change Manager 12.6 (and previous versions) only encrypts and decrypts passwords that are sent across the network between clients and servers. File data, for e.g. checkin/out, transmitted between server/client/agent is not encrypted. Is there an alternate way to encrypt file data?

Environment:

CA Harvest Software Change Manager 12.x
Windows, Linux, UNIX

Instructions:

Unfortunately, in the current version, file data encryption is not supported. If you would like to see this feature added to Harvest, please visit the Enhancement Request (at the link below), vote for it, and add your comments about any specific use cases where encrypting the data transfers would be preferred or required.

Additional Information:

The harvest system was designed to operate within a secure domain therefore encryption of file data transfer within this domain was considered unnecessary.
