IMPORTANT: vCenter Server Appliance 6.5 builds have been removed as of November 14, 2017 due to a deployment-impacting issue. This issue does not impact Windows installed vCenter Servers. To resolve this issue, you must upgrade to vCenter Server Appliance 6.5.0f or vCenter Server Appliance 6.5 Update 1c, or later. For more information, see KB 51124.

vCenter Server Appliance 6.5 has known security issues. These issues are documented in VMware Security Advisories and the release notes for VMware vCenter Server Appliance Photon OS Security Patches. Customers are advised to adopt the latest version of vCenter Server Appliance 6.5 to remediate the known security issues.

Product Patch for vCenter Server Appliance 6.5 containing VMware software fixes, security fixes, and Third Party Product fixes. This patch is applicable for vCenter Server and Platform Services Controller Appliances.

Download and Installation

You can download this patch by going to the VMware Patch Download Center and choosing VC from the Search by Product drop-down menu.

1. Attach the VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-6.5.0.5700-7119070-patch-FP.iso file to the vCenter Server Appliance CD or DVD drive.
2. Log in to the appliance shell as root and run the commands given below:
   1. To stage ISO: 
      software-packages stage --iso
   2. To see the staged content: 
      software-packages list --staged
   3. To install the staged rpms: 
      software-packages install --staged
