Summary:
It is recommended that you define all of the other MSM file systems and associated mount points to the UNIX BPXPRMxx control member * EXCEPT * for the /.../msmserv/mpm path. We recommend that you DO NOT define the file system and mount point for the /msmserv/mpm path in in the SYS1.PARMLIB(BPXPRMxx) member. The reason is because the USS file systems that are created and mounted during a product installation are added to MSM as managed product USS file systems. We never want anything other than MSM to manage the /msmserv/mpm/ mountpoint for the USS filesystems that it created.
Instructions:
I. The UNIX BPXPRMxx control member should include the following MSM file systems and and associated mount points.
MOUNT FILESYSTEM('dsnpref.release_number.ZFS.MSM')
MOUNTPOINT('/parent_path/msmserv/release_number/msm')
TYPE(ZFS) MODE(RDWR) PARM('AGGRGROW')
MOUNT FILESYSTEM('dsnpref.release_number.ZFS.MSMINST')
MOUNTPOINT('/parent_path/msmserv/release_number/msminstall')
TYPE(ZFS) MODE(RDWR) PARM('AGGRGROW')
MOUNT FILESYSTEM('dsnpref.release_number.ZFS.MSMRUN')
MOUNTPOINT('/parent_path/msmserv/release_number/msmruntime')
TYPE(ZFS) MODE(RDWR) PARM('AGGRGROW')
II. Manage the mountpoint for the /.../msmserv/mpm directory using the 'Mount Point Management System Setting' in MSM.
In MSM, click 'SETTINGS', 'SYSTEM SETTINGS', 'Mount Point Management' and in the "Mount" section of the screen you will see Application Root* assigned to /.../msmserv/mpm/
