How many concurrent SNMP threads can be actively monitoring a single device in a Smarts application environment (Smarts IP/SAM/MPLS/NPM and so on)?

In a Smarts application environment, multiple SNMP threads can monitor a single device. The number of threads that monitor a single device depends on the following:
  • The number of polling groups that device participates in. There is one SNMP thread per polling group.

  • The number of Smarts servers which are monitoring that device (Smarts IP AM, VoIP AM and so on) and the number of polling groups of which the device is a member for each server.
