How do you configure one Ionix SAM/Smarts SAM server to connect and subscribe to events from another Ionix SAM/Smarts SAM server?

To configure one Ionix SAM/Smarts SAM server to connect and subscribe to events from another Ionix SAM/Smarts SAM server, do the following:

  1. Confirm/ensure that both SAM servers are subscribed to the same Broker.
  2. On The top level SAM, go to the Global Manager Admin Console.
  3. Expand ICS Configuration > ICS Domain Configuration.
  4. Right-click Domain and select New Domain.
  5. Enter the name of the lower level SAM server in the "Domain Name" field.

IMPORTANT! This field is case sensitive.

  6. Select Next.
  7. In the "Create New Type" field, enter a name such as SAM. MPLS or whatever is an applicable name, and select Next.
  8. In the "DXA FILE" field, select dxa-sam.conf.
  9. In the "Minimum Certainty" field, enter 0.1 and in the "Smoothing Interval" field, enter 65.

  11. Run a Reconfigure operation to apply the configuration changes.
