Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Powering On virtual machine fails with error: Property 'Initial admin user password' must be configured for the VM to power on. from the VCenter. 
• The virtual machine can be powered ON directly from ESXi host.

Environment

VMware vSphere 7.0.x
VMware vCenter Server 7.0.x
VMware vSphere ESXi 7.x
VMware vCenter Server 8.0
VMware vSphere ESXi 8.x

Resolution

To resolve this issue, unregister and register the virtual machine on the vCenter server.
