Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
When attempting to create TKG Management Cluster in AWS you see the following error

Error: configuration validation failed: cannot set AWS node size: instance type m4.2xlarge is not supported in region us-west-2

Environment

VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid 1.x

Cause

The issue is that the instance type must be available in all the AZs of a given region. In this case it seems like m4.2xlarge might not be available in every single AZ in us-west-2.

This has since been fixed in TKG 1.4.

    Resolution

    Upgrade to 1.4.

      Workaround:

Should you stay on TKG 1.3, there are no workarounds for the management cluster deployment other than using an alternative instance type.
