Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Provisioning fails in vRA with the following error :

Provisioning operation failed. Cannot customize network interface on compute without required domain setting for the network [<NetworkName>]. To fix the customization issue, specify a domain name for the network. If you are using a template to provision the machine, check that the template does not contain any network custom settings for IP, gateway and DNS servers. To not apply the customization spec, set the customizeGuestOs property to false in the machine component in the blueprint.

Environment

VMware vRealize Automation 8.x

Cause

This error can occur when leveraging vRA network profiles for IP assignment if the domain field of the network added to the profile is not populated.

This setting can be checked under Infrastructure -> Configure -> Network Profiles -> Networks
