Number of Flow Monitoring Data exceeds maximum supported object count

Issue/Introduction

This article is intended to provide information pertaining to this alarm.

Symptoms:
When reviewing Network and Security --> Dashboard --> System Scale tab for NSX 6.4.x in vCenter the critical alarm "Number of Flow Monitoring Data exceeds maximum supported object count" is displayed.  

Environment

VMware NSX for vSphere 6.4.x

Cause

Alarm displays when max count exceeds 2000000.

Resolution

No impact or risk is related to this alarm.  The alarm can scale up to 9000000 but they are trimmed down to 4000000 every 5 minutes.  This is not causing any issues in the environment and is cosmetic only.  This alarm is safe to ignore.  The max count will be set to 5000000 in a future release of NSX for vSphere and will only display the alarm if that count is reached or exceeded.
