[VMC on AWS] Different ESXi hostname is displayed in the hostname field of VMware Aria Operations for Logs (SaaS)

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
Different ESXi hostname is displayed in VMware Aria Operations for Logs when the following query is executed.

Display query as text :
source | Contains | [ESXi IP address]

Results (e.g) :
Incorrect : ip-X-X-X-X.ap-northeast-1.compute.internal
Correct : esx-1.sddc-X-X-X-X.vmwarevmc.com

Cause

This is a known issue.

Resolution

Please contact VMware support with the following information.

• Org id :
• SDDC id :
• Impacted ESXi hostname :

You can find your Org id and SDDC id from the Support tab in the VMC console. Please also refer to "Get Support " docs.
