[VMC on AWS] VMC does not support VM evacuation by vMotion Compute Policy

Issue/Introduction

This article provides information of VM evacuation by vMotion Compute Policy in VMware on AWS.

Cause

VM evacuation by vMotion is one of Compute Policy that vMotion is performed on the virtual machines running on a host when the host enters maintenance mode for some reason.
However, in the VMC environment, vMotion is triggered in the above situation by default.
Moreover, there is no policy for other triggered action besides of vMotion.
Therefore, VM evacuation by vMotion policy has no effect and is not supported at this time.

Resolution

VMware is aware of this issue and currently working on fixing it in a future release.
Please do not use VM evacuation by vMotion until then.
