Issue/Introduction

  • When saving custom chart options, the chart type does not show correctly.
  • Example: The chart is saved with a Stacked Graph, but when relading and viewing the chart it is showing as a Line Graph.

Environment

VMware Cloud on AWS

Cause

There is a known issue where the vSphere Clinet does not correclty show the saved custom chart options.

Resolution

  • There is currently no resolution
  • As a workaround, select another chart option and then select the custom chart option again (below is an example):
    1. Open the VMC on AWS vSphere Client
    2. Select a virtual machine and then select Monitor > Performance | Advanced
    3. Click Chart Options
    4. In the Chart Options menu, select Stacked Graph from the Chart Type drop down
    5. Select Save Option As and save the customer chart option.
    6. Click Ok and close the Chart Options menu. The graph in the chart will show the Stacked Graph view.
    7. Select another component (such as vCenter or another VM), the re-select the previous VM
    8. Select the custom chart option that was saved in Step 5. The graph will show the default graph view instead of the saved custom option.
    9. Click Chart Options and the chart type will continue to show the default option (Line Graph in this example).
    10. Select another chart option, then re-select the custom chart option.
    11. The chart type should now be the custom saved chart option.
