Unable to select NIC IP mode when creating a new VM connection during vApp deployment from a template

Issue/Introduction

• When selecting the NIC IP mode when creating a new VM connection during vApp deployment from a template, IP Mode, IP Address and IP Type will get stuck on a loading circle.
• Creating a new vApp without any template does not have the issue
• vApp and VM can still be created, but the network settings have to be changed after creation.
• This only seems to appear if there are at least two networks available to select from.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.5.x

Cause

The issue arises in the vApp creation wizard when starting a new VM. The VMware Cloud Director UI freezes when changing the IP mode while adding a new NIC connection.

Resolution

Resolution:

• Issue has been fixed in Cloud Director 10.5.1.1 version as per release notes available at VMware Cloud Director 10.5.1.1 Release Notes

Workaround:

• Establish the VM connection after the vApp has been created.
