Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

When deploying a 2TB VDP 5.5, 5.8, or 6.0 appliance, the appliance shows a default memory configuration of 6 GB.

Note: The correct minimum Memory configuration should be 4 GB when deploying a 2TB VDP appliance.


Environment

VMware vSphere Data Protection 6.0.x
VMware vSphere Data Protection 5.8.x
VMware vSphere Data Protection 5.5.x

Resolution

This is known issue in the vSphere Data Protection (VDP) appliance, versions 5.5.x, 5.8.x and 6.0.x.
 
Currently, there is no resolution or workaround available.

Note: The appliance performs better with a minimum of 6 GB of memory.
