"SCSI Controller is VMware Certified" reports warning for Intel VMD controller in vCenter 7.0U3

Issue/Introduction
Symptoms:
In vCenter Server 7.0 U3, the cluster remediation cycle may be interrupted by the vSAN health check warning “SCSI Controller is VMware Certified”, if the ESXi host has Intel VMD turned on.
In vCenter Server 7.0 U3, vSAN health check may report a false warning, see below screenshot, for ESXi hosts with Intel VMD turned on in the vSAN Health check “SCSI Controller is VMware Certified”.
Environment
VMware vSAN 7.0.x
Cause
vSAN Health Service is unable to correctly identify the Intel VMD controller in the HCL, Even though the Intel VMD controller is certified for use with vSAN.
Resolution
Upgrade vCenter/ESXi to version 7.0U3d or higher
Workaround: If a cluster has ESXi hosts with Intel VMD turned on, either ignore this “SCSI Controller is VMware Certified” health check warning or silence this health check when performing cluster remediation.
