Issue/Introduction

This error message may cause confusion for customers as it says there are no vSAN datastores, when in fact there are.

Symptoms:
vCenter has been upgraded to 7.0U2
ESXi still running version 6.5

vSAN Proactive Tests view doesn't show the proactive tests but displays:
"This cluster does not have any vSAN datastores"
Although this is a vSAN cluster and there is a vSAN datastore.

Environment

VMware vSAN 7.0.x

Cause

This issue occurs because of incorrect handling of older hosts in the cluster that supports HCI Mesh functionality.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware vSAN 7.0 Update 2.

This is due to be fixed in a future release.

Workaround:
We don't recommend using the Proactive Tests on clusters in production. Proactive Tests are meant for testing clusters pre-production.
