Issue/Introduction

The physical NIC check verifies whether your vSAN configuration follows the vSAN best practices for networking.

The check verifies whether each vSAN VMkernel adapter is backed by at least two physical NICs to support failover. In addition, it checks that the physical NICs in a team are configured for the same link speed.

Resolution

For each vSAN VMkernel adapter, provision at least two physical NICs, one being a failover NIC.

If the link speeds of the physical NICs differ, adjust the speed for each host to make the link speeds equal.

For more information on collecting VMware vSAN logs, see Collecting vSAN support logs and uploading to VMware (2072796).
