Component utilization is high on witness appliance

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Skyline Health warns of component limit was exceeded and objects with reduced availability.
• The utilization shows the witness having fewer max components than the data nodes.

Environment

VMware vSAN 7.0.x
VMware vSAN 6.x

Cause

The reason for this is due to the fact that the witness was deployed with a "tiny" specification which only allows for 750 max components as per Deploying a vSAN Witness Appliance.

Resolution

To resolve this issue a new witness with a Medium or Large configuration needs to be deployed. The vSAN Witness of an cluster can be changed via "Cluster - Configure - vSAN- Fault Domains" and "Change witness host".
