Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Power on and storage operations are slow with the HP Smart Array P410i controller
  • If ESX becomes unresponsive on the HP Smart Array P410i and you press ALT+F12, you see the error:

    WARNING: SCSILinuxAbortCommands Failed.
    WARNING: VSCSIFs:240:handle 8192 (vscsi0:0):Failed
    hpsa0 abortingcmd 0x2a 0:0 serial:0x132902e
    hpsa :pollcomplete ():returning 1
    hpsa0:SendCmd Timeout out, No command list.

Resolution

This is a known issue. For more information, see the Supported Hardware Issues section of the vSphere 4.0 Release Notes and ESXi 4.1 Update 1 Release Notes.

To resolve this issue, install the HP 256MB P-series Cache Upgrade.
