After upgrading to vRO 8.4.1 or higher, errors are seen running workflows using DynamicTypes objects

Issue/Introduction

A change in 8.4.1 and higher causes NULL values for SDK objects to be serialized as empty strings instead of NULL.

Symptoms:
The following error is seen when running workflows with DynamicTypes objects

This URI is missing service name or service version

Environment

VMware vRealize Automation 8.x
VMware vRealize Orchestrator 8.4.x

Resolution

VMware is aware of this issue.  See the workaround below for further details.

Prerequisites

Download the o11nplugin-dynamictypes.dar file located in the Attachment(s) section.

Procedure

Install the plugin by following the instructions located in Install or Update a vRealize Orchestrator Plug-In.
