vRealize Orchestrator 7.x displays the message UNLICENSED!

Issue/Introduction

This article helps to resolve the UNLICENSED! message which you see in vRealize Orchestrator client's title bar.

Symptoms:

• When connecting to embedded vRealize Orchestrator using vRealize Orchestrator client, you see the UNLICENSED! message in the vRealize Orchestrator client's title bar.
• After upgrading vRealize Automation appliance, the embedded vRealize Orchestrator displays as UNLICENSED! in vRealize Orchestrator client's title bar.

Environment

VMware vRealize Automation 7.x
VMware vRealize Orchestrator 7.x

Resolution

To resolve this issue:

1. Log in to the control center of the embedded vRealize Orchestrator with the user root at the address:
   
   https://<vRO_FQDN>:8283/vco-controlcenter/#/control-app/licensing?advanced
   
   Note: Replace <vRO_FQDN> with the vRealize Automation appliance FQDN for embedded vRealize Orchestrator instances.
    
2. In the Select License Provider dropdown box, select the vRA License option and click Save.
3. Connect to the vRealize Automation appliance as a root user through SSH.
4. Restart the embedded vRO services and its dependent services on the appliance by running these commands:

   Embedded:

   vcac-vami service-manage stop vco-server vcac-server horizon-workspace elasticsearch
   vcac-vami service-manage start elasticsearch horizon-workspace hzn-dots vcac-server vco-server

   External:

   service vco-server restart
