Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • The product is not discovered and listed automatically during binary mapping attempts in VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle (formerly vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager) 8.x.
  • Attempts to manually download and map the binary fail with the error

Cause

The issue can occur when the relevant product support pack is not installed in Aria Suite Lifecycle to enable support for the desired product version. The error may also indicate that the file has been corrupted during download or transfer.

Resolution

Validate the Installed Product Support Packs

  1. Verify that the correct product support pack is installed in Aria Suite Lifecycle to enable support for the desired product version.
    1. To check what product versions the currently installed product support pack supports and to check for new product support packs navigate to Settings > Product Support Pack.
  2. If the correct Product support pack is installed compare the checksum of the downloaded file to that displayed on the Customer Connect download page to ensure that they match.
    1. If the checksums do not match, the file has been corrupted during download or transfer and will need to be downloaded again.
