ABX action runs fail when one vRA node is down in a HA cluster

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • After shutting down one vRA virtual appliance in a three node HA cluster, ABX actions start failing.
  • The abx-service log contains messages similar to:
    Extensibility error received for topic ...: ... failed with the following error: connection timed out: /10.244.X.Y:8123


Environment

VMware vRealize Automation 8.2.x
VMware vRealize Automation 8.3.x

Resolution

This issue is resolved in vRA 8.4.


Workaround:

Prerequisites

  • Please take simultaneous non-memory snapshots of each virtual appliance(s) in the cluster.
  • You have access to root user and password
  • You have SSH or console access to each virtual appliance.

Procedure

  1. SSH into one vRA virtual appliance
  2. Run
