Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager upgrade fails.
• You see "Waiting for services to start" within the portal for hours.

Environment

VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.1.x

Cause

• Application of Knowledge Article:  Failure while importing an encrypted certificate into LCM, leaves additional extra Bouncy Castle jars present within /usr/java/jre-vmware/lib/ext

Resolution

See the workaround below for additional information.

Workaround:

1. SSH to the vReallize Suite Lifecycle Manager appliance node
2. Confirm these additional jar files exist in /usr/java/jre-vmware/lib/ext

bcmail-jdk15on-1.54.jar
bcpkix-jdk15on-1.62.jar
bcprov-ext-jdk15on-1.62.jar
bcprov-jdk15on-1.62.jar

3. Make a backup copy of these jars in /tmp
4. Remove these jar files if they do exist
5. Reattempt the vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager upgrade to 8.2
