Users without first and last name attributes are unable to login

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Users without first and last name attributes are unable to login to  VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle (formerly vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager) 8.x.

Example: Service Accounts which may have only the username field populated but no entries for First or last name attributes.

• Login attempt to the Aria Suite Lifecycle UI with one of these users displays the following error:

You do not access to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager. Please contact administrator of this system.

• Attempting to search the Aria Suite Lifecycle UI for one of these users returns no results and the /var/log/vrlcm/vmware_vrlcm.log file shows the following exception:

Environment

VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.x

Resolution

The issue is resolved in VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.8.1.

Workaround:
To workaround this issue populate the user's first and lastname fields with a value.
