Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Pre-staging the Infrastructure as a Service database in Microsoft SQL server fails the vRealize Automation installation wizard with "Error occurred while executing SQL file: MODIFY FILE failed"

Environment

VMware vRealize Automation 7.x

Cause

SQL Server includes a model database that is the template for all databases created on the SQL instance. For IaaS to install correctly, do not change the model database size.

Resolution

Revert the model database settings to Microsoft SQL defaults.
