Environment

VMware Aria Automation 8.x

Cause

This issue may occur in the following common situations :

Scenario 1 : An invalid character is used in one of the nodes root password in the VMware Aria Automation cluster

Scenario 2 : Password stored in locker of Aria Suite Lifecycle is incorrect for one or all nodes in the cluster

Resolution

Scenario 1 : Invalid character in root password

Reset the root password as per the documentation here- https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-cis/aria/aria-automation/8-17/vmware-aria-automation-on-prem-administering-8-17/maintaining-your-appliance/how-do-i-reset-the-root-password.html

Considerations:

  • Password should have minimum one upper case, one lower case, one number and one special character. Special characters can be !@#$%^&*().
  • Do not use + or spaces in your passwords.

Scenario 2 : Incorrect password stored in Aria Suite Lifecycle

Remediate the root password stored in the locker of the Aria Suite Lifecycle for the Aria Automation appliance by following the steps outlined in the KB 302049
