Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

When submitting a blueprint that contains an encrypted properties you see error message similar to:

The data specified within the request is invalid. The current data type SECURE_STRING for the 'xxx.propertyname' field must be STRING.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware vRealize Automation 7.x.

This issue is resolved in VMware vRealize Automation 7.3.1 and VMware vRealize Automation 7.4, available at VMware Downloads. 

Workaround:
To work around this issue, apply the patch. To request the patch, file a support request with VMware Support and note this KB article ID (2151292) in the problem description. For more information, see Filing a Support Request in Customer Connect (2006985).
