Certificate is not in CA store error when applying Orchestrator workflow in VMware Aria Operations

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Integrate Aria Orchestrator with Aria Operations and configure the Apply Host Security Configuration Rules workflow in Aria Orchestrator.
• Select APPLY HOST SECURITY CONFIGURATION in Aria Operations.

• You receive the following error. Cannot send mail: 'Could not convert socket to TSE' Cause: 'Certificate is not in CA store'

• The error is displayed in Aria Operations but note the resolution is carried out in Aria Orchestrator.

Environment

VMware vRealize Operations 8.10.x
VMware Aria Operations 8.12.x

Cause

The workflow triggered in Aria Operations fails as Aria Orchestrator is unable to send email. This issue occurs if the SSL certificate for the SMTP server configured in Aria Orchestrator is not trusted. 

Resolution

• Follow the steps in the URL to import a trusted certificate into Aria Orchestrator.
• APPLY the Host Security Configuration action once again in Aria Operations.
