Issue/Introduction

The purpose of this article is to detail the steps required to remove the Network Proxy Server configuration from a VMware Cloud Proxy appliance.

Symptoms:
A Cloud Proxy appliance is configured to use a network proxy server during or after deployment.

Resolution

  1. SSH to the Cloud Proxy appliance and edit the following file.
    • vi /storage/db/vmware-vrops-cprc/configuration/cprc.configuration
    • change "connectretry" to "0" (to ensure the Cloud Proxy retries to connect).
  2. Shutdown the Cloud Proxy appliance in vCenter.
  3. Edit the network proxy configuration in the Cloud Proxy appliance using vApp options:
  4. Power on the Cloud Proxy appliance in the vCenter.
  5. Verify functionality before removing the snapshot.
