Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Upgrading the management pack for Horizon to version 2.2.x or 2.5.x, results in many undefined alerts due to alert localisation issues.
  • The alert name is displayed as 'undefined'

Environment

VMware vRealize Operations 8.10.x

Cause

Upgrading the Management Pack for Horizon results in 'undefined' named alerts being generated.

Resolution

A defect was identified and will be resolved in a future release, workaround is to reinstall the Management Pack for Horizon and the undefined alerts will no longer be triggered.

Workaround:

Warning - Uninstalling a management pack will remove all data and metadata related to this management pack. Please do not proceed if you do not wish to remove historical data related to the Horizon Management Pack.

  • Note down the accounts used for Management Pack for Horizon, as these will be removed upon uninstall.
  • To uninstall the Management Pack for Horizon, navigate to Data Sources -> Integrations -> Repository -> Management Pack for Horizon -> Click the Ellipsis -> Click Uninstall

  • Reinstall the vRealize Operations Management Pack for Horizon by clicking the Add button at the top of the repository page.
