Add Aria Operations (formerly vRealize Operations) Read-Only and Power User Roles to vCenter

Issue/Introduction

This article explains how to use the Manage Registrations option in Aria Operations Adapter configuration so as to have the Aria Operations (formerly vRealize Operations) Read-Only and Power User roles available for selection when creating a vCenter account for use with Aria Operations.

Symptoms:

• Creating an account in vCenter and you wish to assign limited Read Only or Power User permissions but the roles are not available.
  • privilege.Global.com.vmware.label > vRealize Operations Read Only Role
  • privilege.Global.com.vmware.label > vRealize Operations Power User Role

Environment

VMware Aria Operations ( formerly VMware vRealize Operations) 8.x

Resolution

• Browse to the Aria Operations UI and select Data Sources -> Integrations.
• Edit the vCenter account, scroll down and click on Manage Registrations
• Enter the vCenter user credentials of the account you want to add the roles to.

• The Read Only and Power User roles will now be available in vCenter for selection.
