Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center
VMware NSX-T Data Center 2.x

Cause

This issue occurs in NSX-T 2.1 due to the way DFW handles TFTP flows. In an event of random traffic patterns containing TFTP flows, a timing situation can exist which ultimately causes a host crash. Retransmission of the initial TFTP packet on an established TFTP session while distributed firewall is enabled may lead purple diagnostic screen for the participating hosts.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in NSX-T 2.2 and subsequent versions
