Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Setting IPv6 IP mode as None saves as DHCP in the VMware Cloud Director 10.3.x Tenant UI.
  • On the Data Centers tab > Under Compute > vApps > Click on the Virtual Machine > Under Hardware > Click NICs > Edit > On the IP Mode tab > Enter IPv4 Mode as DHCP and IPv6 as None >Click Save IPv4 Mode saves as DHCP and IPv6 Mode incorrectly saves as DHCP.


Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

This is a UI defect affecting VMware Cloud Director 10.3.x versions.

Resolution

This is a known issue in VMware Cloud Director 10.3.x versions.
The issue is resolved in VMware Cloud Director 10.4, available at VMware Downloads.

If you cannot upgrade to VMware Cloud Director 10.4 or above, please use the workaround specified in the Workaround section.


Workaround:
  1. Open the Tenant Portal.
  2. On the Data Centers tab, select the datacenter.
  3. Click Virtual Machines, select the virtual machine.
  4. Under Hardware, click NICs.
  5. Click Edit.
  6. Enter IPv4 IP Mode as DHCP and IPv6 as None.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Both configurations of the IP Modes saves as DHCP.
  9. Click Edit again.
  10. Click Save
  11. The IPv4 Mode is now set as DHCP and IPv6 is set as None.
