Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• When unregistering lookupservice from Cloud Director UI, the following error is seen:

Error unregistering with Lookup Service <PSC URL>- An unhandled error occurred. - Service unreachable - <PSC URL> invocation failed with "java.net.UnknownHostException: <PSC FQDN>: Temporary failure in name resolution

• Unable to remove lookup service configuration from VMware Cloud Director.
• The environment was upgraded from vCloud director 9.7 or older versions to Cloud director 10.2.x.

 

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

Stale lookupservice configuration entries in the database from the older versions can cause this issue. These configurations are not updated automatically in VMware Cloud director 10.2.x.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, please open a Support Request.​
Database modifications are required to manually update lookupservice configuration and will require VMware Technical Support assistance.​
