Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

  • When removing an Org VDC from a Datacenter Network group from the UI, the following message is displayed:

[xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx] Cannot remove Org VDC <OVDC name> from VDC Group <VDC group name> because it has workloads connected to VDC Group networks. Please disconnect workloads from network in VDC and try again.

  • The Org VDC to be deleted has no VMs and no workloads as seen from the UI.

  • The Org VDC has been removed from the VDC Group as per documentation at VMware Cloud Director documentation



Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

This issue occurs due to stale workload references to the Data Center Network in the Cloud director database.

Resolution

The workaround for this issue requires modification of the Cloud Director database.
